PARIS, France — South Alabama discus thrower Francois Prinsloo fell short in the qualifying rounds of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games Monday morning in Stade De France Stadium.
Prinsloo hurled a top throw of 61.35 meters (201'3"), putting him in 13th place in Group A of the Discus qualifying rounds at the Olympics and leaving him out of the top 12 competitors heading to the Finals on Wednesday, Aug.7.
This closes an incredible year and a historic South Alabama career for Prinsloo. He has claimed six total Sun Belt conference titles, three straight NCAA East Regional Titles, an NCAA Championship, and an Olympic Games appearance.
