MOBILE, Ala. – No. 5 Southern Miss scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to defeat the University of South Alabama baseball team 6-4 Tuesday at Stanky Field, presented by Accelerated Accounting.
South Alabama (24-19) held a 4-3 lead after eight innings following a four-run seventh inning, aided by a three-run double by Diego Altamirano. But Southern Miss (35-10) plated three runs in the top of the ninth on four hits to for a 6-4 come-from-behind win.
