CONWAY, S.C. – No. 18 Coastal Carolina used an eight-run sixth inning and a complete-game shutout from right-hander Zack Hopeck in a 12-0 series-clinching win over the University of South Alabama baseball team Sunday at Springs Brooks Stadium.
Hopeck (3-3) allowed three hits, and struck out seven with one walk in seven innings pitched in the win.
South Alabama (17-13, 7-4 SBC) will return to action Tue., April 10, when it travels to Montgomery, Ala., for a midweek contest with Alabama State at 6 p.m. at Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex on the campus of ASU.
