The NCAA is now allowing high school and college basketball players to be represented by agents.
The rule changes are a response to a September 2017 announcement of a federal investigation into fraud in college basketball.
On Wednesday, the NCAA Board of Governors and Division I Board of Directors adopted a series of policy shifts they say "will promote integrity in the game, strengthen accountability and prioritize the interests of student-athletes over every other factor."
Changes approves are as follows:
- Provide college basketball players more freedom and flexibility to decide their future.
- Minimize the leverage of outside influences on high school recruits and college athletes.
