MORRIS SCORES TWICE, PACES SOCCER PAST UAB

MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama senior Briana Morris recorded a brace, and freshman Bergdís Fanney Einarsdóttir had a goal and an assist in the Jaguars' 3-1 victory over UAB Friday night at The Cage in game two of the Jaguar Classic.

The Jags won their second straight outing to improve to 2-0-1 on the year. The Blazers drop to 0-2-1.

GAME FACTS
- South Alabama made it a 2-0 game with goals just over a minute apart late in the first half
- Einarsdóttir blasted a shot from about 25 yards out at the top of the box at 34:54, then Morris converted passes from graduates Chloe McGlade and Athanasia Moraitou 61 seconds later for a 2-0 advantage
- Shortly after halftime, UAB got on the board via a free kick; Stella Kiss floated in a cross from the right wing that found the head of Megan Hudgens at the 50:10 mark
- It took Morris just under 10 minutes to stretch the Jags' lead back out to 3-1
- A cross from Einarsdóttir hit Morris at the top of the box, and two touches later, she put the ball into the left corner of the net
