MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama graduate student Athanasia Moraitou has once again been called up by the Hellenic Women's National Team.
It's the second time since joining the program last fall that she has been selected to represent her country in qualifying for the UEFA European Women's Championship, as she played all 90 minutes when the team faced Germany in a match in October.
Moraitou will depart on Monday in advance of a group match at Ireland scheduled to take place Thursday.
Moraitou was selected the Sun Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year and voted first-team all-league after posting a goal and six assists in 17 appearances.
