A day after Mobile mayor Sandy Stimpson threw down the gauntlet on a proposal to help fund South Alabama's new stadium, councilman John Williams fired back.
Stimpson said in a press conference Wednesday that "it's time for the city council to vote."
"The mayor burned a bridge," Williams said Thursday. "And he did so at the lead of the South Alabama leadership. I think everyone mis-stepped on this one.
"This was not a time to kick us in the pants. They simply threw fuel on the fire."
Williams joined me and Lee Shirvanian on "The Opening Kickoff" on WNSP-FM 105.
