The University of South Alabama will wait at least three more weeks for a possible vote on city funding for its planned football stadium.
A letter of intent proposed by Mayor Sandy Stimpson was on the council's Tuesday agenda, but a vote had seemed unlikely. Last week, District 2 Councilman Levon Manzie had said he didn't want to vote until he could hold a community meeting for residents of the Maysville community, and as of Tuesday that hadn't taken place yet.
Manzie said he'd set a date and time for that meeting: 6 p.m. July 23 at Williamson High School.
