Experience in coaching and recruiting in the state of Alabama are attractive qualities when it comes to landing a job at Mississippi State under Joe Moorehead.
While at the podium Wednesday during the SEC Media Days, the first-year coach in Starkville was asked about the addition of special teams coordinator and former South Alabama coach Joey Jones.
Jones, 55, resigned in December after nine seasons as the South Alabama head coach. He went 52-50 at USA, including 4-8 in 2017.
"I got his name recommended to me by one on our staff," Moorehead said Wednesday.
