MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama men's basketball team got a game-tying tip-in with 5.8 seconds left and senior Georgi Boyanov (Lovech, Bulgaria) hit two key 3-pointers in overtime in a 69-64 victory over Florida International Friday night in the Red Diamond Roundball Classic at the Mitchell Center.
The Jaguars move to 3-0 for the first time since 1996-97, while the Panthers drop to 1-2.
"I thought that that was an unbelievable win for us," USA head coach Matthew Graves said. "Our guys played with tremendous heart, they fought and fought.
