STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern's Mike Hughes hit a 3-pointer with 6.0 seconds left in regulation and made two free throws in overtime to clinch the game to give the Eagles an 84-79 win over the University of South Alabama men's basketball team Monday night at Hanner Fieldhouse.
The Eagles remain unbeaten in the Sun Belt Conference at 3-0 and go to 10-6 overall, while the Jaguars fall to 8-8 and 1-2.
"I was really proud of our effort coming back in the first half," USA head coach Matthew Graves said.
