McGill-Toolen junior QB Sheldon Layman 'ecstatic' about USA offer

has patiently waited for his time to shine at McGill-Toolen.

He watched as Paris Chambers in 2015 and Bubba Thompson in 2016 took the Yellow Jackets to the Class 7A title game and were then honored as first-team All-State players.

But now it's clearly Layman's time. The rising junior played well in McGill-Toolen's spring game win at Thompson and Thursday received his second college offer - this one from South Alabama.

"I was ecstatic," Layman told AL.com. "It's my hometown school. My mom went there. This is a big deal for me.
