MOBILE, Ala. | Olivia Lackie and Madison Lagle combined to toss a five-inning no-hitter Friday evening as the South Alabama softball team bounced back with a 9-0, run-rule victory over Mississippi Valley State at Jaguar Field on day one of the Mardi Gras Classic presented by Beebe's Termite & Pest Control. The Jags dropped game one of the day, 3-1 to Missouri State.
Against the Diamond Devilettes, South Alabama (2-4) set a new school record with eight steals, while Meredith Keel had three hits, drove in three, stole a pair of bases and scored a run in the two games.
