DALLAS, Texas (NCBWA) - Redshirt Senior righthander John Gillis has been named to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Preseason Watchlist.
Gillis threw 15.0 innings in nine appearances for the Jags, recording a 8.4 K/9 ratio. Gillis logged his first career win against Southern Miss in a 1.2 inning outing.
Seventy-six players have been named to the initial 2025 Watch List for
the 20th Annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award, given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I Baseball.
The NCBWA, founded in 1962, presents the Dick Howser Trophy to the nation's top player and the Mike Martin National Coach of the Year to the nation's top coach.
