Three wide receivers with Alabama roots are hoping to continue their football dreams with the CFL's Edmonton Eskimos.
Canadian Football League teams opened training camps for first-year players and quarterbacks on Wednesday, and full training camps for the league's nine teams start on Sunday.
Larry Cobb, Jarvis Turner and D'haquille "Duke" Williams are trying to earn places on the Eskimos as rookies. They're among the 21 players from Alabama high schools and colleges on CFL rosters as on-the-field preparations for the 2017 season begin.
A standout at Demopolis High School, Cobb was a team captain at Tuskegee as a senior in 2014.
