South struck first in doubles action, getting a win from the duo of Chems Doha Zeghlouli and Otoha Aoki over Stephanie Atelius and Momoko Yoshimura, winning 6-2.
Louisiana evened the doubles score with a win at number one, where the duo of Carla Urchoeguia and Angelique Berrat got a 6-4 win over Luminita Tutunaru and Tereza Dejnozkova.
South Alabama took a 1-0 lead after clinching the doubles point thanks to a 7-6 win from the duo of Elysia Pool and Nikola Novotna.
