TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Freshman runner Kirami Yego closed out his impressive 2021 campaign Saturday morning with a top 100 finish at the NCAA Championships hosted by Florida State at Apalachee Regional Park. Yego placed 98th at the meet with a time of 30:08.2 in the men's 10k.
The Kapenguria, Kenya native climbed as high as 71st during the meet at the 7000m mark.
BYU's Conner Matz won the individual title on the men's side crossing the line with a time of 28:33.1, while Northern Arizona captured the team title scoring 92 points. BYU's Whittni Orton also won the women's 8k prior to the men's race with a time of 19:26.
