NEW ORLEANS – After finishing the regular season with a 7-6 victory over Troy earlier in the day and picking up its 13th league win, the University of South Alabama softball team earned the fourth seed in next week's Sun Belt Conference Championship hosted by Troy at the Troy Softball Complex and will face fifth-seeded Appalachian State in its opening game.
The 10-team tournament runs from Tuesday, May 11, through Saturday, May 15, and features both single-elimination and double-elimination play with the championship game set for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
