MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama continues opening weekend with a matchup in Jacksonville (Ala.) against in-state foe Jacksonville State on Sunday. Kick off is set for noon and the game will be shown on ESPN+.
South Alabama currently leads the series 5-3-2 and won the last matchup between the teams, 3-1 (Sep. 3, 2017). The Jags and Gamecocks will be meeting in Jacksonville for the first time since 2008.
South Alabama (1-0-0) kicked off its season against Kennesaw State Thursday night and came away with a 2-1 victory. After falling behind 1-0, the Jags offense quickly answered to tie the game.
