MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama women's soccer earned a draw in their home opener against North Alabama. The Jags got on the board early and maintained a 1-0 lead until Lions scored a late equalizer to tie the match at 1-1.
Freshman defender Lilly Lowery scored her first collegiate goal in the 13th minute, when she scored a header off an assist from freshman Gabriela Angulo.
The teams battled back and forth for the middle 60 minutes before North Alabama senior defender Izzi Gurney scored in the 73rd minute off an assist from Kate Wiseman to tie the match.
