SAN ANTONIO – The University of South Alabama men's golf program posted a 310 total in its first round of the 2018-19 season at the Lone Star Invitational on Monday, ending the opening day of play one shot out of the top 10 in the team standings.
Rasmus Karlsson posted the Jaguars' low score with a 76 at the TPC San Antonio AT&T Oaks Course, one stroke ahead of fellow junior Yannick Schütz. Freshman Jordan Plunkett is also among the top 50 individually after the first day of the tournament, one shot in back of Schütz.
Host Texas-San Antonio recorded a 1-over-par 289 total and will enter the final round with a two-stroke advantage over Arkansas State.
