AUSTIN, Texas – University of South Alabama offensive lineman Rowan Godwin earned second-team recognition on the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I football teams released by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Monday.
He is just the second Jaguar since the program's inception in 2009 to be named an Academic All-American by the organization; former center Trey Clark was a second-team honoree in 2012.
To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America recognition individuals must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or better, be a starter or important reserve, and must have sophomore status both academically and athletically.
