JAGUAR ATHLETICS PICKS UP THIRD CONSECUTIVE VIC BUBAS CUP

NEW ORLEANS – When the University of South Alabama baseball program earned the Sun Belt Conference tournament title with a walk-off single from Brendan Donovan in the 10th inning Sunday, it not only delivered the Jaguars an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament but the league's Vic Bubas Cup.

The Jags earned an extra point in the standings for the award — presented to the school with the top all-around program — for winning the baseball tournament championship, and with 119 points edged out Texas State by a ½ point while finishing two ahead of Texas-Arlington.

It's the third straight season USA has won the trophy, the first time the school has accomplished the feat since claiming three in a row from 1992-94.
