HAMMOND, La.- The South Alabama Women's Soccer team grabbed a 2-1 victory over Southeastern Louisiana Sunday afternoon.
After a stalemate between both sides. the Lions would get on the board first in the 23rd minute to take the 1-0 advantage. The Jags responded quickly, with Irene Campo converting on a free kick to even the score. Shortly after, April Lantaigne connected with Monique Gray to give South a 2-1 lead. After a lightning delay, South Alabama headed into the half with a 2-1 lead.
After another lightning delay, South exerted control against the Lions at the start of the second half by maintaining a strong defensive presence.
