STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern scored nine unanswered runs to defeat the University of South Alabama baseball team 9-2 Friday at J.I. Clements Stadium.
USA (21-21, 8-11 Sun Belt) held a two-run lead after 2 ½ innings before Georgia Southern (25-18, 11-8 Sun Belt) tied the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Eagles then plated six runs in the fifth inning, and added the final run of the game in the seventh.
South Alabama will return to action Saturday when it faces Georgia Southern at 2 p.
