TROY, Ala. – The University of South Alabama baseball team scored nine unanswered runs to defeat Troy 11-3 in Thursday's series opener at Riddle-Pace Field.
USA (21-11, 8-5 SBC) trailed 3-2 after six innings before posting five runs in the top of the seventh to take a 7-3 lead. The Jags then added four runs in the ninth to secure the win, which marked the fourth straight win over Troy.

South Alabama will return to action Friday when it closes the series at Troy with a split doubleheader.
