SAN MARCOS, Texas – The University of South Alabama baseball team scored a season high in runs in a 21-8 run-rule win over No. 17 Texas State in Sunday's series finale at Bobcat Ballpark.
South Alabama (24-18, 10-11 SBC) sent 15 batters to the plate in the top of the second and scored 10 runs in the inning, one in both the third and fourth, two in the fifth and seven in the seventh inning to avoid the three-game sweep.
Santi Montiel went 4-for-5 with a double, one home run, four RBIs and four runs scored, and Will Turner finished 4-for-4 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Jaguar offense.
