MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama baseball program added 14 student-athletes for the 2017-18 academic year, as announced Tuesday by head coach Mark Calvi.
The class consists of eight high school student-athletes and six who will join the program via transfer from either junior college of another four-year institution.
"The class kind of reflects our needs," Calvi said. "We have a lot of position players coming back. We'll lose a few to graduation and the (Major League Baseball) draft, but for the most part we have a large nucleus of guys who have been in the program coming back.
