South Alabama's already banged up defense added at least one other significant injury after Saturday's loss to Appalachian State.
Senior safety Nigel Lawrence, whose 48 tackles are 22 more than anyone else on the Jaguars' team this year, is out indefinitely after injuring his right knee in the second quarter of a 52-7 loss to the Mountaineers. USA head coach Steve Campbell said Monday he was awaiting MRI results on Lawrence's knee.
"I don't want to say (Lawrence is out) for the year; I don't think it's for the year," Campbell said. "We'll wait on the MRI.
