STATESBORO, Ga. – The University of South Alabama men's basketball team shot 28-for-49 from the field for 57 percent in an 88-59 win over Georgia Southern Saturday afternoon to open Sun Belt Conference play in the Hanner Fieldhouse.
Michael Flowers led all scorers, notching 26 points for South on 5-for-8 shooting behind the arc. The senior had two more buckets inside the arc with seven free throws to go with four rebounds, five assists and a steal. Kayo Goncalves notched the first double-double this season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. John Pettway and KK Curry both eclipsed double figures with 17 and 12 respectively.
