LANCASHIRE, England – South Alabama's men's golf student-athlete Jack Hearn finished competition at The Amateur Championship at the Royal Lytham and St. Annes Golf Club on Saturday.
Hearn finished tied for 40th after carding a 2-under-par 68 and a 74 in the first two rounds of stroke play, qualifying him for the match play section of the tournament.
The Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary, Ireland, native defeated Calum Scott 2&1 in his first round of match play. He then claimed another victory in the following round 4&3 over Lucas Nicolas Fallotico. Hearn fell to Sam Baristow 4&3 in the final round of match play.
