NEW ORLEANS – University of South Alabama sophomore Yu Fujioka was voted Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year, and Fujioka and senior Alexandria Stiteler earned first-team all-conference honors in the league's postseason awards released Wednesday.
Fujioka is the third Jaguar in the last four seasons to receive player-of-the-year honors, and Stiteler joins Estelle Gevers as the only four-time all-Sun Belt recipients in school history.
A native of Funabashi, Japan, Fujioka currently holds a 20-4 overall record and a 14-2 mark – all at the top three flights – in the spring.
