JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Renaldo Frechou qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Thursday, highlighting the performances of six University of South Alabama individuals on the first day of the NCAA East Region Preliminaries at Hodges Stadium.
Frechou posted a 66.35m mark on his initial attempt — just .02m shy of matching his best effort this season — in the men's hammer throw, placing 10th in the final standings after entering the competition as the 16th seed. With a finish among the top 12, it marks the third straight season that the senior has advanced to the national meet; he has earned first-team All-America honors each of the last two years after placing among the top eight at the championship.
