JACKSONVILLE, Fla. | Francois Prinsloo became the third South Alabama student-athlete to punch his ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with his performance in the discus on Friday.
Prinsloo punched his ticket by winning gold in the event with a throw of 61.44 meters (201-07), winning the event by nearly five feet over second-place Claudio Romero of LSU at 60.01 meters (196-10). He joins Kyle Rademeyer in the pole vault and Kirami Yego in the 10,000-meters as student-athletes who advance to the outdoor championships.
