FORMER USA ALL-AMERICAN JOHNSON EARNS MOBILE HALL OF FAME NOD

MOBILE, Ala. – Former University of South Alabama baseball All-American Lance Johnson was honored on Monday when it was announced that he will be inducted into the Mobile Sports Hall of Fame in April.

Following the 1984 campaign — his lone season as a Jaguar — the native of Cincinnati, Ohio, was selected third-team All-America by both the American Association of Collegiate Baseball Coaches and Baseball America after setting a then-NCAA record with 89 steals, still the school's season standard. He batted .343 and scored a team-best 83 runs in helping USA finish 50-19 overall, advance to the NCAA South Regional in Tallahassee, Fla.
