NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE, England – Former University of South Alabama men's golfer Jonny Caldwell recorded his first top-10 finish of the season on the European Tour after tying for eighth place Sunday at the Betfred British Masters held at the Close House Golf Club.
Caldwell opened the event with a 4-under-par 67 on Thursday, following with a 69 the next day to make the cut. He shot 67 once again on Saturday before closing out play with a 70 for an 11-under-par 273 total, making the native of Northern Ireland one of nine individuals in the field to break par in all four rounds.
