DEGLI-UMBERTI BREAKS SCHOOL DISCUS RECORD WHILE TRACK AND FIELD KICKS OFF BUSY WEEKEND

MOBILE, Ala. – Bodine Degli-Umberti broke the school discus record while the University of South Alabama track and field team kicked off its weekend while being represented at three different meets Thursday and Friday.

The Jaguars' weekend started on Thursday at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center (CVEATC) in Chula Vista, Cali., where Francois Prinsloo (62.24m) placed fifth in the discus at the CVEATC Elite Discus Invite. Prinsloo and three other Jaguars— Sebastian Loschner (53.43), Degli-Umberti (51.27m) and Colette Uys (50.92m)— competed in heats that featured Olympic champions.

The Jags' throwing squad then competed at the Triton Invitational in San Diego, Calif.
