South Alabama has had some shocking losses over the last several years, but it's difficult to find one more disastrous than last November's trip to Georgia Southern.
The Jaguars came in at 4-6, clinging to postseason hopes. The Eagles were winless at 0-9, and had already made a mid-season coaching changing.
Inexplicably, South Alabama left Georgia Southern's Paulson Stadium last Nov. 18 on the short end of a 52-0 loss, the only shutout defeat in school history. Two days later, it was announced that coach Joey Jones would not return for a 10th season.
Due to a scheduling quirk, the Jaguars (1-4, 1-1 Sun Belt Conference) travel to Statesboro, Ga.
