The Commission on College Basketball called for radical changes to the sport in light of what it calls a "broken" NCAA enforcement system, in a report released Wednesday.
The commission -- established in October and led by former Secretary of State and Alabama native Condoleezza Rice -- made a number of sweeping recommendations for "prompt radical transformation" in regards to player eligibility and rules enforcement. The report released Wednesday comes at the end of a trying season in college basketball, which saw numerous programs -- including Louisville, Auburn and Arizona -- ensnared in a widespread FBI investigation into corruption in the sport, plus an unsatisfying end to a multi-year probe into academic fraud at North Carolina.
