LAFAYETTE, La. – Elijah McGuire ran for 223 yards while Al Riles caught eight passes for 139 yards to lead Louisiana-Lafayette to a 28-23 Sun Belt Conference football win over the University of South Alabama at Cajun Field on Saturday.

The Ragin' Cajuns (2-1, 1-0 Sun Belt) had gained 134 yards in the opening half, but held a 223-135 advantage in total offense in the third quarter to take control of the contest as Riles scored on a 71-yard pass in the period while McGuire's 68-yard score providing the final margin of victory.
