BOONE, N.C. – Chase Brice threw for two scores and ran for another as Appalachian State pulled away late to earn a 31-7 Sun Belt Conference football win on Saturday over the University of South Alabama at Kidd-Brewer Stadium.
Brice finished 14-of-26 passing for 195 yards and Camerun Peoples added 90 yards on 23 carries to move the Mountaineers to 8-2 overall and 5-1 in the Sun Belt on the year. App State was led defensively by Nick Hampton with eight stops, with D'Marco Jackson adding seven tackles and a pass defensed.
A.J. DeShazor Jr. paced a Jaguar defense that allowed only 330 yards with 10 total tackles, while Keith Gallmon Jr.
