Former South Alabama baseball star Adam Lind will have a new team for the third straight MLB season after signing with the Washington Nationals on Monday.
Lind signed a one-year contract with Washington. He is expected to serve as a backup or platoon first baseman, fourth outfielder and left-handed pinch hitter, a role that has been filled by former Northview High School and Troy standout Clint Robinson for the past two seasons.
After spending his first nine big-league seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays, Lind went to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for pitcher Marco Estrada on Nov.
