Adam Lind signs with New York Yankees

Former South Alabama standout Adam Lind has joined the New York Yankees at their spring-training camp in Tampa, Florida, after signing with the American League team.

The Yankees announced on Friday that they'd signed the first baseman to a minor-league contract that included an invitation to spring training.

Lind will try to earn a spot on the roster as a backup first baseman and left-handed bat off the bench.
