BATON ROUGE, La. - The University of South Alabama women's basketball team outscored Southern University 16-9 in the fourth quarter to walk away with a 53-49 non-conference road win at the F.G Clark Activity Center in Baton Rouge. With five minutes to go in the fourth quarter Shaforia Kines hit two free throws to give the Jag women their first lead since the 3:38 mark in the first quarter, and they held on to improve to 4-0 for the sixth time in program history.
The junior guard from Birmingham, Ala., made the start after missing Saturday's contest against Central Arkansas with an injury and tallied six of her seven points in the fourth quarter.
