2 debuts, 2 All-Stars, 6 division leaders, 9 DL trips for Alabama players in 2016 MLB season

When Major League Baseball resumes the 2016 season on Friday after its four-day All-Star break, six players with Alabama baseball roots are right where they want to be – on first-place teams.

Austin Adams and Tommy Hunter of the Cleveland Indians, Clint Robinson of the Washington Nationals, David Ross of the Chicago Cubs and Jake Peavy and Sergio Romo of the San Francisco Giants are playing for division leaders as the Major League teams return for the second half of the season.

In the first half of the campaign, two players with Alabama roots – Tim Anderson and Chad Girodo – made their MLB debuts, Josh Donaldson continued playing on an elite level after winning the American League's MVP Award last season and Craig Kimbrel joined Donaldson in earning selection for the All-Star Game.
