Per a press release from the club, Tijuana center back Yasser Corona is undergoing surgery for an injury to his sixth cervical vertabrae during last night's Copa MX match against Correcaminos UAT. Corona's immediate condition is not currently known.
During a play late in last night's match, Corona went up for a header and looked to clash heads with a Correcaminos player. As Corona fell toward the ground, he made no effort to brace himself for impact and his head hit at a most dangerous angle. Reports also indicate that he went into convulsions after the incident.
