Xavi Hernandez’s exit at Barcelona looks set to be bad news for captain Sergi Roberto whose future has been plunged into doubt again.
Roberto had been expected to sign a new contract at the club this summer, with Xavi having made it clear on several occasions he wanted the skipper to stay.
Yet Xavi has now left his position as first-team boss and is set to be replaced this week by former Bayern boss Hansi Flick.
Mundo Deportivo are reporting that the managerial change means Roberto’s contract renewal is at a “standstill” while Barcelona make plans for next season.
