Barcelona have reportedly decided that it’s a straight choice between Xavi or Rafa Marquez as to who will lead the side next season.
The club’s continued financial uncertainty is once again affecting on-pitch matters which has led Barca to turn back to the two former players.
Xavi has already said he plans to stand down at the end of the season, but Joan Laporta is keen for him to continue and will speak to him again after El Clasico.
The former midfielder won La Liga in his first full season but has found it tough going this year which prompted his shock announcement in January that he wants out.
