Barcelona manager Xavi Hernández confirmed in his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s La Liga match against Atlético Madrid that the club is working on the registration of new signing Vitor Roque in the January transfer window.
Barça signed Roque last summer and announced he would only join ahead of the 2024-25 season, but rumors began circulating that the club would try to sign him in January if there was enough salary cap room. The season-ending injury to Gavi will allow the Blaugrana to do so as long as Roque’s salary doesn’t exceed 80% of Gavi’s, and Xavi wants it to happen.
