Benito Floro leads Canada into his first official match as head coach.
It's been nearly two years since he took over the program, but Benito Floro will finally be in charge of Canada's men's national team in an official match on Thursday evening.
The Canadians will face host Dominica in Roseau in the first of two World Cup qualifiers against the Caribbean island nation, and it will be the first time Floro will be on the bench for a Canada match that counts for something. Since he was appointed boss of the national team program in 2013, Floro has only had friendlies in which to evaluate his charges, and the Spaniard has slowly shaped the team into the unit that matches his vision.
